Available with either a pinked edge or a serged edge the choice is yours!
What is the difference you ask?
A serged edge has an overlocked finish around the full edge of the interlabial while the pinked edge is double stitched and trimmed using pinking shears creating a soft frayed edge when washed. If you are still unsure which you will prefer drop me note with your order to mix them up and I will send a mixture of each.
Randomly chosen fabric selection. You may receive fabrics different from those is the photos.
If you like your interlabials a bit thicker choose the flannel or cotton/Lycra blend or you can leave a note with your order for an extra flannel layer.
If you prefer thinner interlabial choose woven cotton.
If you prefer the leaf shaped ILP’s in a non serged edge they are available here https://www.etsy.com/listing/1527901837/serged-ilps-interlabial-reusable-cloth
What is an interlabial pad
Interlabials or ILP’s are small absorbent pieces of fabric that are typically folded and placed between the labia and vaginal opening (they are not meant to be inserted or used internally) they catch menstrual gushes and discharge to help direct the flow of blood toward the center and front and back of your pad,This can help avoid leaks and stains on the sides of your pads.
During periods they should be used alongside a period panty, cloth pads, or as extra protection when using menstrual cups or tampons.
Interlabials do not have a leak proof layer and can be worn plain or patterned side up. ILP’s are normally folded in half lengthwise but can also be rolled or folded width wise depending on personal preference.
Once you have folded or rolled the pad, place it in between your labia and vaginal opening. Your ILP will form to the shape of your labia and most people won’t know it's there but don’t forget to remove it when going to the toilet as your ILP can easily fall in.
If you find your ILP feels bulky you can choose thinner fabrics or smaller sizes to help find the perfect fit.
You can wash your ILP’s by hand by rinsing in cool water to remove excess blood and then hand wash them with your favourite mild detergent until clean and rinse thoroughly. Do not use fabric conditioner or fabric softeners as this will reduce the absorbency of you ILP
*****Important note If you are washing in your machine ******
Please be sure to wash your ILP’s in a wash bag as they can block the drain of your washing machine if left loose.

If you are new to cloth and are unsure what length you might need I would recommend measuring you current favourite disposable. And chose that length. If you tend to bleed over the length of the back or front of your current disposable I would suggest adding a few inches to that length and chose that length.
Which way your pads are worn depends on the pad chosen,on my pads you will find an embroidered letter on the wing on the side that goes towards you this tells you the absorbency and will also help you determine which way to wear them:
L-Light
H-Heavy
S-Super
R- Regular
A snug fitting pair of underwear is very important to wear with cloth pads as they will help keep your pad securely in place and prevent your pad shifting.
Although I wash all fabrics before making your products it’s a good idea to wash your pads before.
You can either dry store your pads after they are soiled until they are ready to wash or pre rinse if you will be washing them soon. If you pre rinse, it is best to wash them soon as possible after because otherwise they will start to smell musty. If your pads are pre-rinsed or lightly soiled, you can simply put them in with the rest of your wash but DO NOT use fabric conditioner/softener
If you prefer to wash your pads separately, simply put your pads in the washer with your detergent on a 40-degree or less cycle. You can pre-soak your pads in an oxi based cleaner for 30 minutes before your regular wash to remove stains and odors if needed. You can also hand wash your pads if that is your preference.
Line drying is always preferred but yes you can. Please use a lower heat setting as high heat can warp your snaps and deteriorate your leak proof layer. Please also be aware that drying in the dryer can reduce the lifespan of your cloth pads.
Here’s a few more tips!
• Never use chlorine bleach. It weakens the fibers, fades the colour and may ruin your pads.
• Never wash unrinsed pads in hot water, it may set the iron from your blood, making a permanent stain.
• Do NOT use fabric conditioner/softener It will make the fabric less absorbent and can lead to leaks
• If you have stains, try using a little hydrogen peroxide on the stain this will usually remove it.
• A FEW drops of tea tree oil in the wash water can help disinfect and deodorize your pads.
• If your pads develop a musty smell from sitting in an enclosed space (like the bottom of your handbag if you forget them for a few days) a bit of white of vinegar or oxi in the wash water can help remove the odor.
